Fishing Report for July, 5th 2011

The fishing out on Lake Winnebago and the Bay of Green Bay has been very hot over the last couple weeks. On the Bay we have been getting easy limits trolling cranks around rock piles in 10-12 fow. Hot cranks have been flicker shads in the #6 and #7 size. The hot color varied from day to day but white was a consistant producer.

The bite on Winnebago has also been hot. Both the rock piles in the mud flats have been producing fish. Casting the rock piles with a 1/8 ounce jig and crawler has been taking a lot of fish. Trolling larger flicker shads out on the mud has been productive as well. Most of the fish on the mud flats seem to be around 10 feet down in the water column.
