The walleye bite on Winnebago the last couple weeks has been spotty at best. Some days we have been easily bringing in limits and other days we have been struggling just to get a couple. All the walleye we have been catching on Winnebago have been caught working rock piles or rocky shorelines with jigs or crank baits.
The bite on the Upper Lakes has been down right terrible pretty much the entire season so far. We have been getting a walleye here and there trolling shad raps or crawler harnesses, but we have failed to get anything consistent going up there.
We did make one trip this weekend up to the Wolf River in the New London area and caught 8 smaller walleye in just a couple hours of fishing, so there are still a lot of fish up in the river. We caught these fish casting flicker shads in about 5 fow.
