The walleye bite the past few weeks has been amazing, with single day catches ranging anywhere from 20-50 fish. There have been a lot of smaller fish mixed in with the keepers, but most days we have been able to sort though and find a limit of good sized fish.
All the fish we have caught have been on spinning tackle, either casting jigs tipped with crawlers or leeches or casting shad raps. The fish have been taking jigs over deeper structure such as rock piles topping off around 10 fow. The crank baits have been extreamly effective on shallower sturcture such as shorelines and shallow rock bars. For jigs color does not seem to matter at all. For crank baits anything natural has been taking fish.
