The walleye bite out on Lake Winnebago has remained strong over the past couple weeks with catches in the double digits almost everyday. The key has been to get out early in the morning and make good use of the low light hours. Another major factor has been the amount of boat traffic out on the lake. Staying away from the crowd has been crucial.
The rock and weed bites have been going very strong, but the trolling bite has been almost non-existent. We have been getting all our fish on the rock piles dragging bottom bouncer rigs at around .75 mph. All the fish we have been catching in the weeds have been on 1/16 ounce jigs tipped with a leech or a night crawler.
