The walleye fishing was pretty slow on Lake Winnebago throughout August and September. However, now that October has rolled around the bite on the Fox River has been phenomenal. We have been catching huge numbers of mid sized walleye. Our tactic of choice has been drifting and vertical jigging either plastic worms, crawlers, or minnows depending on the day. This bite should only continue to get better as we move into November.
Right now the current is flowing at a decent pace and the water clarity is only around 6-10 inches.
