Fishing Report for April, 24th 2011

The bite so far in April has been very unusual with unseasonably low temperatures and an Easter week snowfall. In spite of the unusual conditions the bite has remained strong for the most part. At this point the walleye run on the Fox River in Depere is winding down and the run on the wolf river seems to be at its peek. The walleyes out on the wolf have been falling easy victim to an Orange jig tipped with either a shinner or a half crawler.

As the fish begin to migrate back into the main lakes I will be looking for the trolling bite to be heating up on Lake Poygan and on Green Bay this week.
